The Annular Solar Eclipse of 2010 January 15, begins at sunrise close to the border of Chad,Cameroon and Central Africa Republic.. It sweeps quickly over Central African Republic, before crossing Northern Congo and Uganda. The antumbra then enters Kenya, crosses the central part of that country, and then enters the Indian Ocean, with the centreline leaving the coast on the Kenyan border with Somalia. This annular eclipse then crosses the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka, before ending at sunset in South east Asia. Maximum duration of this eclipse is 11m 7.8s, in the Indian Ocean. The Kenyan coast will see an eclipse of 95% magnitude at 05h33 UT with a duration of approximately 8m 39 sec.
